From the Chairman:
A Chairde,
Fáilte romhat fáilte romhat chuig suíomh idirlín cumann lúthchleas Gael Abu Dhabi Na Fianna – Welcome to the Abu Dhabi Na Fianna official website.
Our hope is that the site will allow for us to keep present and past members up to date on how and what the club is doing.
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome new members to the club, there have been quite a few this year, and we are glad you have joined us. Also to those members who have returned a big welcome back.
This year, as always, we are taking on our friends up the road in Dubai for the UAE Challenge Cup. There is also the January Gaelic Games 7’s in Dubai for the first time with teams coming from all over the globe and maybe a tournament here in March. Hopefully a reciprocal trip to our friends in Oman in the spring will also occur.
On the entertainment side we are looking forward to organizing some fun social events, we already had our Hawaiian night; you can check out the photos yourself to see if any craic was had!! We are looking forward to our annual fundraising event this spring, with we hope a guest speaker as in past years, our end of year awards evening, and maybe a visit from Elvis!!
As always our aim for the year is to work closely with our friends in the Abu Dhabi Irish Society, to build a “home away from home” feeling for our Irish community, while at the same time encouraging others from around the world to join us and sample a bit of Irish life in the UAE.
On behalf of all the hard working committee, we hope you enjoy the year and have many fine memories to take away when we reach next June.
Best wishes,

Félim Bolster
Chairman
