Just a quick e-mail to let you know that training has been cancelled tomorrow night due to the Eid holidays and some match that’s on at Croker.

Firstly, a big thank you to everyone who travelled to Dubai last weekend to represent the club. Well done to both the guys and girls for some sterling performances on the day despite the fact we have been back training only a week now.

Hope all players enjoyed the matches and the night out in The Irish Village afterwards.

Secondly, just a reminder re. training times tonight: -

7:00 – 8:00 pm – Ladies training.
8:00 – 9:00 pm – Men’s training.

Lastly, just a reminder of membership fees due – AED 300 for the year payable on or before October 15th. Membership can be paid at training every Sunday and Wednesday nights!

Hi there,

Dubai informed me yesterday that they need to move the games forward an hour from 2:00 pm to a 1:00 pm start time.

As a result the bus travelling to Dubai will now leave from outside Choueifat School tomorrow morning at 10:00 am sharp.

Please note this change in time from the previous e-mail sent and please be on time – we need to be there for 12:30 so we don’t have much time to spare.

For those of you who are driving could you also please be outside Choueifat at 10:00? We may need you to take one or two up the road!

We have a mini tournament coming up this weekend (Friday September 11) in Dubai.

• Matches will run from 2 – 6 pm.
• All matches are to take place in The 7’s Stadium in Dubai.
• Changing facilities, with showers, will be provided for all teams.
• Each game is 9-a-side with the games lasting 14 minutes (2 halves of 7 minutes).
• There will be 4 ladies’ teams competing in a round robin format with the top 2 to go straight through to the final (all teams competing are thus guaranteed at least 3 matches).
• There will possibly be 8 men’s teams competing so there will be 2 groups set up with the top 2 in each to go through to a semi-final and final (again this guarantees plenty of playing time for the lads).
• Dubai have organized entertainment afterwards to take place in The Irish Village. The bus will take us straight to The Village after the football and back down to Abu Dhabi later that night (The bus will depart Dubai at 1:30 am that morning).

As time is limited on Friday Dubai have asked us to be at the pitches for around 1:15 pm. Due to this our bus will leave Abu Dhabi at 11:00 am sharp on Friday morning.

Pick-up will be from outside Choueifat School here in the city (2nd and 15th Street) and thus will give us the opportunity/time to stop off on the way up to get food and water supplies.

Attached is a list of those who have committed already to playing on Friday and who will be travelling on the bus and staying up in Dubai that night. If your name is not already on the list and you wish to travel on Friday please let me know asap as I need to book a bus within the next couple of days.

The following are the training times for both men and women effective from this coming Sunday, September 6th: -

Every Sunday night: -

• 7:00 – 8:00 pm Women’s Training.
• 8:00 – 9:00 pm Men’s Training.

Every Wednesday night: -

• 7:00 – 8:00 pm Men’s Training.
• 8:00 – 9:00 pm Women’s Training.

Training will take place out at The American International School on 29th Street on both of these nights. (Please check here for directions to the pitch).
