April Events
Saturday, March 29th, 2008Hello all,
Hope you are all in good form and enjoying the change in the weather which has signalled the start of summer. Just a few reminders.
First is to let everybody know that training is still taking place at the Delma street pitch from 7:30 – 9:00 on a Wednesday night. With a match against Dubai scheduled for the end of the month quickly followed by a tournament in Muscat in early May, it is important that we keep numbers up and give ourselves every chance in those games.
On Thursday April 1oth, the GAA and Irish Society will be having their annual Hawaiian Beach party at The Club. This is to replace the pool party we used to have in the CP before the Pool Bar opened. It will be 100 Dhs entry with a disco/BBQ and a prize for the best/worst shirt-shorts-bikini (all three won by Mike Boyce last year). This is open to all club and Irish society members as well as anyone else who wishes to attend. However for catering reasons we need to give the club numbers. They will also need a list of names for the gate so I need you all to e-mail me on kehoeben@hotmail.com , or ring or text me on 0507214682 with confirmation that you wish to attend.
Also in the pipeline for this month are a Golf Outing, a Shooting Trip and the annual Abu Dhabi Rose, and more information on these will be given in the coming weeks.
Until then take care and we’ll see youse at training
PS We need the numbers for the beach party by April 5th at the latest! That’s next Saturday!
Aussie Rules, Anyone?
Wednesday, March 26th, 2008If anyone is interested in playing in an Aussie rules tournament, 9 a side on a rugby field at Sharjah Wanderers on Friday 28th of March 11am then please contact:
Mick Uberti on 050 9027 583 or email on michaeluberti@gmail.com
Anyone playing Gaelic football would be more than competitive in Australian Rules. Around 18 teams have already entered and it should be a big day.
