Just a quick reminder about Christmas Carol evening on Tuesday 15th: We will have a Box Office for ticket sales tonight (Sunday 13th) 7pm-8:30pm at the Crowne Plaza Abu Dhabi, Hamdan St.
Note to players – James was to come to training tonight to sell tickets but as training has now been cancelled due to the bad weather (the pitch is waterlogged!) all players will have to attend the box office tonight if you want to get your hands on some tickets.
Cheers,
Dec.
Abu Dhabi Irish Society would like to wish our guys and girls (and kids) from Abu Dhabi Na Fianna who are travelling to Bahrain for the Gulf tournament this weekend. It’s always a good weekend!
We are hoping that they will be paying more for their luggage on the return flight when they are loaded down with silverware…
On the Thursday night when we arrive in Bahrain there is a “meet and greet” night for all clubs participating in the games on Friday.
This is something we feel we should/will attend for a short period of time to show our backing for the tournament and for all events organized around it.
We, as a club, feel it would be nice to have all our players decked out in club colours for this event and for the games the following day. Consequently, what I plan to do is to bring our social tops down to training tomorrow night and anyone who has not got a social top already can buy one if they so wish.
Social tops are selling at a price of AED 175 per top with 2 different designs to choose from. We do not want to force this upon people but we would look a lot more “like a team” if we were all kitted out in the same colours.
Also, an e-mail will follow about training tomorrow night once we hear back from The Golf Club.
Just a few updates regarding our trip to Bahrain this coming weekend.
That’s everything for now. Again, if you have any questions just drop me an e-mail and I’ll see what I can do for you
Apologies about the late notice of this mail but I only just found out that the pitch at The American International School is not available this week as they are preparing for a varsity football tournament this coming weekend.
As a result we have had to move training out to the Al Ghazal Golf Club out by the airport. Please see the attached map for directions.
Training times will remain the same: -
> 7:00 – 8:00 pm Ladies training.
> 8:00 – 9:00 pm Guys training.
Could you please spread the word via text to anyone who might not have access to their e-mail this evening to let them know about this change of location
As you know we have a mini tournament running tomorrow between ourselves, Dubai, Sharjah and Al Ain.
The details of the day’s events are as follows:
Location: American International School (29th Street).
Start: 4:00 pm; Time: 7:00 pm.
Could we ask everyone, both girls and guys, to be at the pitch by 3:45 pm please?
Dubai Men’s are only bringing 1 team but will play against us in 2 matches as we have enough numbers for 2 teams.
In the girl’s tournament there will be 5 teams in total – Abu Dhabi (x2), Dubai, Sharjah and Al Ain. Every team is guaranteed 2 games with a possibility of a third – time permitting of course.
There will also be an inter club juvenile’s game early in the evening. If there are any of you out there who are not players but who would like to come down to support the games that would be very much appreciated – all are welcome!
Looking forward to seeing everyone at the games!
– and a few quick details for tomorrow night’s (Nov 13th) beach party: -
Gates open at 9:00 pm.
You will need your ticket and a valid form of ID to gain entry to The Club.
Food will be served from 10:00 pm onwards.
Beach Wear essential.
There has been a change in plans for Fridays Game against Dubai. There will now be 2 Mens games: a Championship game and a Challenge game. Everyone who shows up will get a run out.
Remember folks, the teams have not been finalised for Bahrain and the teams fielding on Friday are just to give us an idea at this stage. There are still alot of places up for grabs.
Assuming the timing stays the same we need everyone down at the pitch for 4pm (Vinny to confirm).
The Aussie rules lads will be having a game from around 2.30 it’d be good if we could be down and show some support to the lads in their game as they support us throughout the year.
